Meet the Owners
We are Tyler & Rachel Irwin. We have been married almost nine years, and we have two children Callen (4) and Grace (2). We met at a farm auction nearly ten years ago. In addition to our recent endeavor in flower farming, we run a row crop business, a small cattle operation and offer custom hay cutting. We also have a border collie, Ace, and a flock of chickens on our farm. Tyler runs an Ag Repair shop, and Rachel works full time in Ottumwa as a school nurse when she’s not working on the farm.
Our Story
A Way of Life
We purchased our current farm in 2018, and we have been expanding ever since. We have a deep love for the land, and leaving things better than we found them. Both growing up around farming, we had no doubt this would be the way of life for us.
God Made A Farmer
Tyler began farming independently in 2014 as a 3rd generation farmer. He loves tending to the crops, cattle, and repairing farm equipment for his customers.
A Love for Gardening + Flowers
Rachel has always loved gardening and flowers. Starting a more formal flower business has been her dream for a long time. Rachel shared this love and dream with her mother, Brenda. Brenda loved flowers and the joy they brought to her and so many others. Combining flowers with Brenda’s cake business felt like the perfect pair. However, Rachel and her mom never got that opportunity. On July 28th, 2023, Rachel’s parents went to be with Jesus as the result of a terrible car accident.
Beauty From Ashes
As a way of honoring Rachel’s parents, and especially her mother, we added fresh cut flowers to our growing farm business. This was an opportunity to show that even in the depths of our worst grief, Jesus can use something as simple as flowers to bring joy and beauty from ashes.
Our First Year
In our first year, we have grown tulips, ranunculus, zinnias, cosmos, celosia, snapdragons, sunflowers, lisianthus, plus a garden full of produce. The flowers, produce, and farm fresh eggs from our flock of chickens are sold through our farmstand located directly on our farm.
The Future
We are excited to see how our farm and farmstand grow and expand in the upcoming years as we work to glorify God through the stewardship of his creation.
